Selling Salvador Castillo Flamenca Negra

Hello everyone,

I am a new member to this forum but I've visited from time to time in attempt to learn flamenco guitar culture, and in particular reviews on guitar makers whose prices are accessible to me. I live in Los Angeles and visited Paracho, Mexico in 2006 for their annual guitar festival. I didn't know much about classical or flamenco guitars, other than loving the music they create. I met one of the makers that I knew a little bit about, Salvador Castillo.

Salvador was a good guy to my family and I. We visited with him a couple of hours as he showed us his instruments, and played them quite well also. In 2008, after several conversations with Salvador and per his recommendation, I ordered a flamenca negra. Salvador recommended European spruce with East Indian rosewood back and sides, and a 650 mm scale and machine tuners (not pegs). Unfortunately, I haven't made the time to play it much at all, therefore I am selling it.

Perhaps someone out there would be interested in it and has the time to dedicate to playing it. The guitar is in new condition - very little signs of having been played. I am not a flamenco player so even the clear golpeador has been protected from finger nail attacks. I have only changed the strings twice since I've had it. I've had it examined by players in my area who've told me that it seems the guitar is ready to "open up", just requires to be played regularly.

If you are in the LA area and would like to take a look at it, please don't hesitate to ask. I'd be happy to show it.

I am asking $1,800.

I am trying to post photos of it, but the site is only allowing me one photo per message. I'm sure there is a way to load more photos but I can't figure it out right now.

Anyway, thanks for looking!

Fredy

Fredy-
You might want to consider relocating this post to the Classified's category, which is where people post items for sale?? Good luck!
