RE: Favourite transcription tools (in reply to Guest

Guess ultimately ears and hands
Transcribe is my choice of program
Import and export of audio and video files
Piano style keyboard at bottom for pitching
Karaoke function to hone in on a particularly voice
Usual looping function
Actual pitch transposition ( and tuning for those who prefer 432hz :-)
Relative hi fi even at 30%
The link can explain it better

Ihearit is a good portable option for iPhone

Guess I'm using guitar pro more since I couldn't afford Sibelius again when I switched to mac
I like the program and it keeps getting better.. Miles ahead these days than Sibelius for guitar transcription just lacking in standard notation for other instruments

I love Transcribe and find it really useful as you can set bar markers and
It automatically puts in beat markers. And it does video !

I just wish it had a way of adding an audible click to the beat markers to make it easier to practice to.

Cheers

FLV media will loop a section and has speed controls which work with video.

Mostly I try listening till I can sing it and slowing it down in my head. The hard part is doing enough listening.

Transcribe can do anything you'd ever need, it's my choice of program to help me...
GP6 is great, I love it, it has some major flaws though, the most annoying to me being the complete uselessness of the rasgueados included in there...also it annoys me that while it does a good job with hammer ons and pull offs, it can't do the same with slides; also it's a b*tch transcribing free material with it...also, they could've done a much better job with the "nylon guitar" tone, which is terrible...
but once you're used to it, of course it works great...
