Maybe you got lucky. One of the biggest nights in Andaluz flamenco is on the 10th in Jerez - 2.5 hour drive from Malaga.

That's your last night and it will be a late one - goes from 8pm 'til about 4am but it rocks - in the bullring, 1000s of people, a lot of gitanos come from all over. I have been at it was the best flamenco night of my life, doesn't get any better than this outside of a juerga. You can buy in advance or tickets on the day (best in the morning) at the bullring. Only 15 Euros, beer and some food is on sale inside but you might want to bring your own food.

El Capullo and El Torta (Moneo) are singing as usual - miss it at your own risk

What a rock star is my favourite. Here he is at the fiesta in 2007:

I took my late Dad in 2004 and even he got what flamenco was all about watching Capullo.

Val and Simon!!

Thanks for this, this is exactly what i was after!!!

quote:

I'd personally try to get to Festival Flamenco Fiesta del Ajoblanco (5th)

I made an error we'll actually be driving down on the 5th so dont get to andalucia til 7th or something. ill check that link out in a minute.

Simon, I'm gonna have to work on my friends and persuade them a trip to Jerez is a good idea! or maybe ill ditch them and get a bus there!! so due to my mistake our last night isnt the 10th so this kind of late night partying seems a little more feasible!!

Val, we went to Mijas last year after my friends mum recommended it to us. The view was phenomenal and the old town was really nice.
Shame about the countless characterless tourist shops on the front there!!!

I have a feeling we may revisit Mijas as we did go to a really nice restaurant last year and said wed go back,

thanks again
