luthiers candy!!!

I found out today that shellac is used to glaze candy...wierd!!!!

I just glazed some candy apples today with a very nice Conde orange shellac.

You just now found that out? Shellac is just glorified tree sap after all, therefore an organic substance! Here in the US it's approved by the FDA as a food coating. In some supermarkets, it's not unheard of for some fruits and veggies to be lightly sprayed with shellac. Same goes for wooden salad bowls and the like.

Haha thats cool just looked it up on wiki. the candy they have pictured there is skittles. nice.

not tree sap though im afraid, it's a secretion made by the female lac bug when making cocoons.

No it's tree sap initially, in that it's consumed and then secreted by the lac beetle; hence my using the term 'glorified tree sap'. I could've said 'beetle jizz' but that wouldn't have been any more descriptive!

lol i've been here man! all over this crazy town.

actually I have been about starting a record company, putting on non profit concerts, doing projects etc.
