Tom. This is the best description I have heard you make about your guitars. You have a reputation for making good guitars and that should be enough. Any reference to Reyes is secondary to this. Guitars should be judged by how they turn out and not by any particular pattern of construction.

After the high end construction is completed in all master's guitars, it is the voice that compels us.

And a lot of this is patterned/designed by the guitar maker.

I happen to like the Reyes style for this purpose, with a little fine tuning of my own to complete the ideal.

Patterns are shared by a lot of builders in Spain but the downside is that many of them do not share the original designer, which to me, is rather unfair due to not paying homage to the originator.

But then we have the problem of where did it all start.

Wait second hold on...are you saying you build a guitar to the Reyes pattern and then fine tune it using your own special method??? Crazy!!!!

Ricardo,

All I'm saying is that the GAL's 2003 plan is drawn to close measurements of the actual instrument but I have certain techniques to modulate its propio sello; my own personal stamp to produce more snap in the treble end for picado and alzapua.

The bass will synergistic-ally comply with my work on the treble side. This is what I try and work on to achieve a faster and more stable playing technique. It's a never ending trial and the more I work with it, the more I learn its inner stability.

It's a work in progress to get the balance of music and technique....to get that wow factor with everything else in place, is not an easy task.

Interesting...From a musician's point of view I've would have guessed that the bass would be either diminished or completely unaffected by the treble adjustment. I've learned something new today.

Actually the bass would be affected by treble adjustment but to what degree, is only speculation until the actual process is accomplished.

I don't have much trouble with bass adjustment as much as treble and mid register, to get a strong response. The pattern is stable enough to take several different ways to make adjustments for tonal response and articulation.

My idea is to adjust the mid range to get good alzapua and picado and this requires having everything from the treble to the bass fixed synergistic-ally.
