Introduction

Hi everyone! I am a new member from New York and recently decided to get into playing flamenco. I've heard great things about this forum. Looking forward to starting my flamenco journey with this platform!

Welcome to the foro.

Do you by chance have a teacher? That's highly recommended, especially if you're just starting out.

Welcolm!

Tell us a little more about yourself, what kind of guitar are you playing, where you live, what's your favorite color ;)

I'm a flamenco loner up here in Alaska, building guitars for a couple years, playing of and on for forty, you know stuff like that. Oh ya, blue is my favorite color.

Yes! I actually just had my first lesson with my instructor earlier this week. I was able to learn so much in the brief amount of time that I had with her. She showed me how to correctly hold the guitar along with a few exercises, including one using the chromatic scale.

Ha, was joking about favorite color.

Andy Culpepper is a Luther iwho posts here and lives in New York too. I don’t know or be cool but I hook up and check out his flamenco guitars, of course with the Covid etc...

Live instruction or Zoom kind? What’s her name, Ricardo is one of our resident foro Experts and does zoom instruction too. Lot of options out there but if you find a good one best to stick with them.

I'm doing group zoom lessons. The instructor's name is Elysa.

Does Ricardo have a website I can check out?

Marc,

Try http://www.ricardomarlow.com/

Group lessons? How is that working out, say as opposed to one on one? How much does it cost? I've actually thought for beginners a group setting would be more productive and economical with some one on one sprinkled here and there as required.
